Morocco · Late 19th or early 20th century · Deep violet silk on cotton
Deep violet silk covers this Fez embroidery panel in alternating wide and narrow bands. Diamonds, stepped shapes, and smaller motifs repeat along its length, with natural cotton showing between the stitches.
The embroidery was worked to finish the design on both sides, using a traditional Fez technique. A plain cotton panel covers the reverse.
