Morocco · Circa 1900 · Purple silk embroidery on cotton
A large purple silk diamond sits at the center of this Fez textile, surrounded by smaller diamonds, stepped lines, and patterned borders on natural cotton.
The two halves are joined by a center seam, and the embroidery is finished on both sides. The purple varies from deep to faded tones across the panel.
The embroidered area sits within a larger cotton border. Its size works well for wall display, with either embroidered face on show.
