Vintage Swat Valley Wedding Pillow Panel with Silk Embroidery

Red, pink, orange, green, blue, and purple silk threads form closely stitched geometric bands on this Swat Valley wedding pillow panel. The original black fastening loops are still attached along one edge.

This is one embroidered face from a two-part pillow made in northern Pakistan. The reverse is uncovered, so you can see the cotton and the back of the hand embroidery.
